Kayla Toure

About Kayla!

Kayla Toure is a Brooklyn-born actress raised in Bedford-Stuyvesant, shaped by her West African roots and the fast-paced rhythm of New York City. Growing up between a strict, faith-centered home and a tough neighborhood taught her to balance softness with strength, giving her a warm yet grounded presence.

Often described as bubbly, perceptive, and unexpectedly intense, Kayla naturally puts people at ease before revealing emotional depth. She’s drawn to real, complex stories and brings a poetic honesty to her work, influenced by her background in spoken word.

Kayla is also a multiple-time Miss New York titleholder and National American Miss Teen 2022–2023, and the founder of The Lab Improv Group, where she helps young performers build confidence and creativity. She mentors young adults with autism and other disabilities and promotes empathy and inclusion through her initiative, Kindness with Kayla, and her children’s book. As a spoken word poet and leader, she uses her voice to help people feel seen, valued, and empowered.
